Up Close, It’s Weirder
He reached the other side and slowly approached. Up close, the shape looked even stranger. It was huge — maybe six feet long — and covered in thick, wet mud. The surface was oddly smooth, almost shiny in places. He crouched down, unsure what he was even looking at. Animal? Trash? Something about it felt… wrong. Not dangerous. Just out of place. Unnatural.
