Before anything, wait until the stove is stone-cold. Don’t rush this. A warm burner turns grease into a smear and can warp finishes. Cold metal behaves. While you wait, clear the area: a towel on the counter, a small bowl for screws or caps, and a sink with warm water running gently. Set the scene once, and the whole cleanup goes quicker every time.
