As Derek neared the warehouse, he parked a few blocks away to avoid drawing attention. The industrial district was eerily quiet, the only sounds the distant hum of machinery and the occasional barking of a stray dog. He scanned the area, his heart pounding. “I don’t see anyone,” he whispered into the burner phone. “Good,” Wren replied. “But don’t assume you’re alone. Solace always has eyes where you least expect them.”
