Not giving up
Determined not to panic, Carl approached the first door and tested its handle to be sure. The metal was icy and unyielding under his fingers, refusing to give despite his repeated efforts to turn it. Frustration tightened his jaw as he moved to the next door, only to find it just as firmly locked. Still, Carl continued testing each door, hoping they only remained closed due to his lack of strength.
