Feeling empty

The house felt empty, the town felt empty, and even the car, the thing that brought us so much joy in the past, felt empty. Everywhere I looked, I saw her. Sitting on the passenger seat, smiling at me, singing along to the radio. But she wasn’t there anymore. That notion made the thought of that red car taste sour in my mouth. I started resenting it.
