A first drive
The evening ended with Charles taking the car for its first drive since its restoration. Jack and Emma rode along, and as they cruised through the town, people waved and cheered from their porches. Charles felt a deep sense of peace as he drove, the wind in his hair and the hum of the engine beneath him. For the first time in years, he felt truly alive.
