It wasn’t a reasoning that crossed Jill’s mind at the time though. She trusted Kevin completely and gladly followed him to his shelter. But as Kevin led her further, his voice becoming less frequent, his steps quicker. Jill started to notice details she hadn’t before: the streets growing quieter, the buildings older. “How much farther is it?” she asked.
