“Not far,” Kevin said, his tone unconvincing. Jill tried to shake off her unease, trusting him for now. The streets became narrower, and filthier with every corner they took. Jill glanced around, realizing she didn’t recognize anything around here. Kevin’s earlier confidence seemed to waver as well. He avoided her gaze, and his responses became short.
