Back on land
The rest of the group obeyed Tom’s instructions, staying behind in the boat as he and Maya stepped on land again. The bear climbed out of the water as well, shaking its fur before glancing back at Maya and Tom. It started walking toward the forest, pausing every few steps to ensure they were following.
