John called the local police station, and a woman answered on the other end. He figured that the urgency of his call would send police officers flying in, but John got quite the opposite reaction. The police operator calmly picked up and asked John what his emergency call was for. She sounded professional and sincerely interested in the issue, but that changed after John mentioned what was lurking in his backyard.
