Hanging up the phone
John insisted that he was not mocking his local police force. He really needed help, so he doubled down on his emergency and urged them to come over and help with the wild cat in his backyard. But the police operator didn’t bite and rudely told John to take his jokes elsewhere. “We have real police work to do, sir. Goodbye, sir. Have a great day.” And then she hung up.
