The long wait
The immediate danger was contained for now, but they both knew this was far from over. The two men sat on the garden floor in tense silence, listening to the muffled noises coming from the shed and waiting for the police to arrive. “There is no way they won’t believe you now,” Bob said to John, slightly grinning. John agreed as he ruffled his fingers through the tall grass. “We can only wait and pray now.”
