A lucky turn
A stroke of luck turned the tide. The manager’s sedan skidded as he attempted a sharp turn, slamming into a guardrail. Though the vehicle remained functional, the impact slowed his progress, allowing the pursuing officers to close the distance. Realizing he was cornered, the manager abandoned the car and fled on foot into a dense forest bordering the airstrip. Officers followed, their flashlights cutting through the gloom.
